Kennards Great Shave

Having been touched by Leukaemia when in January one of our Teams one year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia, the Kennards Self Storage Team joined the World’s Greatest Shave.

Support among the Team grew quickly as it was apparent how many people have had experience fighting blood cancer.

The support for this initiative at Kennards spread all over the company’s wide geographical footprint.

Last Friday, the Company’s Headquarters hosted a shave and colouring featuring many of the office Team including Sam Kennard.

So far Kennards Self Storage has raised $18,707 but it is not too late to help this cause.

Help Make a Difference in The World’s Greatest Shave!

WGS

In January this year one of our Teammates found out his one year old daughter has Leukaemia, along with many other experiences our Team have had with this disease effecting their family and friends. Those diagnosed undergo very difficult treatment while their families roll through unimaginable emotions and strain. So, Kennards Self Storage has created a Team to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave.

The Leukaemia Foundation work is so important, they provide practical and emotional support to people facing the challenge of blood cancer, as well as investing vital research to find better treatments and cures.

Right now 60,000 people in Australia are fighting Leukaemia. This initiative is a modest gesture on our part to help the people we know fighting this, the other 60,000 people fighting this and for research.

Please support the Shave. Go here to sponsor the Team.

Heart2Heart

The school children holding some of the donated books - Aug 12Heart2Heart Sydney are a Not for Profit organisation with a goal to provide Fijian Schools with quality donated books that will essentially help them improve their English, reading and writing skills. In August 2012 they completed the Viwa Island District Schools Project shipping 400kgs of donated books.

Their next project was assisting up to 20 Fiji Schools and making a real difference to around 2,000 Fijian school children. The books were shipped by two mothers with the support of the Fiji Ministry of Education.

Kennards Self Storage Brookvale supplied donated space for all the books to be stored until such time as they were then shipped to Fiji. There was special mention of Kennards Assistant Manager at Brookvale, Brad Hampson for his tireless effort helping to move the pallets of donated books into storage on their arrival at the centre.
